The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Finance team, with a focus on credit control for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) environments. This role is fundamental in managing client accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining excellent relationships through effective negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities of the Credit Control Role
- Manage and monitor the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of payments from B2B and B2C clients.
- Lead negotiations and resolve payment discrepancies with clients while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Analyse and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers to minimise financial risk.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address invoice issues and improve the billing process.
- Prepare regular credit control reports and maintain accurate records of all communications.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credit control policies and procedures.
Essential Skills for Credit Control Success
- Proven experience in credit control within commercial sectors, with a strong focus on both B2B and B2C transactions.
- Excellent negotiation skills paired with exceptional communication abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare detailed reports.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
- Highly organised with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
