The Opportunity
In this role, you will join our Water Quality Team and receive structured development to confidently carry out water fittings inspections across both customer properties and commercial premises. Your work will help ensure that installed plumbing systems are compliant, while identifying risks to water quality, as well as any issues relating to waste, undue consumption, or misuse of water.
You will be supported with the training and guidance needed to build the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to become a fully competent Water Fittings Regulations Inspector.
This role plays a vital part in upholding Leep Utilities’ processes for compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and the Water Industry Act 1991, helping us to protect water quality and promote responsible use of water resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned inspections of plumbing and water usage systems to assess compliance with the Water Fittings Regulations.
- Undertake reactive inspections of plumbing and water usage systems following compliance failures, and/or water quality customer contacts.
- Support the notifications and consent process for plumbing installation on new build developments and development of existing premises carried out under Regulation 5 of the Water Fittings Regulations.
- Identify high risk water connections and ensure regular inspection and monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding non-compliance issues, outlining required actions, priorities, and agreed timescales for resolution.
- Produce reports and undertake approved plumber audits as required.
- Facilitate other asset site inspections as required.
- Attend training to ensure skills are kept up to date and modern standards are applied and maintained
About You
- You will have a good understanding of Water Fittings Regulations.
- You will be able to produce clear, detailed, written reports.
- You will be comfortable with using computers and digital tools.
- You will be well organised, with a sharp eye for details.
- You will be confident when dealing with challenging situations, with a strong track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Ideally, you'll bring plumbing experience and relevant associated qualifications.
- Experience in carrying out inspections and audits would be an advantage.
This role will require travel to all areas within our supply area and therefore, a full UK driving license is essential.
